Health Information Specialist
Duties and
Responsibilities:
A health
information specialist is a nonclinical healthcare worker who is trained in the
organization, maintenance, filing, cross-filing, and preservation and coding of
patient medical records. The Health Information Specialist under the
direction of the Health Information Manager will assist in the quality
management of organizational health information, organizational compliance, and
duties of the Health Information Technician.
Salary: $20,000-$25,000
Education: Students
should take high school courses in business, information management, science,
math, and English. Coding specialists must have a high school diploma or
GED certificate. Accredited record technicians must earn an associate’s degree
from an accredited college program. Additionally they must pass a credentialing
examination. Record administrators must complete a bachelor’s degree program in
a field and pass a certification examination.

like to be a Health Information Specialist because I not really in to it.
